lifestyle consultants.
July 1, 2008
This past year i called a house on west 22nd street home. I shared this home with 13 other strapping gentlemen, and we are all (for the most part, some have not graduated yet) going forth with our lives and doing wonderful things in various fields. One of the most enjoyable things this year were the looks i received from people when i told them i lived in a house of 14 people, and that those 14 people lived in 6 bedrooms (yes, that means 2 of the rooms were in fact tripled up). Many adventures were experienced during our 9 month occupancy, and i will undoubtedly refer back to this magical place and the people that lived there throughout, those people will be referred to as “roommates” or “housemates” depending on the mood i’m in.
Now that the backstory is over, i have a roommate (see above incase you missed the whole “definition of roommate and what house i actually lived with him in”) named Smiley (you will surely hear (read) more about him as he appears in many stories) who accepted a job with a consulting group in the dallas area. One of the perks of this job (there are in fact, many) is that they set him up with a “lifestyle consultant”.
The mere idea of a lifestyle consultant is absolutely fascinating to me. Someone to help me find a place to live that “sets the tone for my upward mobile lifestyle” and to set me up with the “right friends”. I wish i was making those terms up, but they are more true then most people care to know.
After careful consideration, i have come under the impression that i am need of a lifestyle consultant. My sister and her husband (we’ll call him jared) have served as mini-lifestyle consultants, telling me the things i want because i am incapable of deciding for myself. I am now officially accepting applications for lifestyle consultants, and for now (until i sell my own company) it is an unpaid position. I need someone to tell me what to wear, what to drive, where to be seen, who are my friends, and how to decorate the place i’m living in.
any takers?
